- We covered the metabolic pathway for High Fructose Corn Syrup in biochem recently. It's quite different from regular sugar, and not regulated the same way either, which leads to some negative consequences.

- I was able to get Windows 8 through a university licensing deal for free, tried it, and promptly removed it. It's total junk on a desktop. In other news I did, however, like the snappy music from the surface commercial.

- Installed Windows 8 on a desktop and tried it for several days. It's horrible. The UI gets in the way of doing pretty much everything. For example, why remove the start menu? Removed it and put 7 back on.
